 Sarasota, FL – [May 25, 2024] – Tim Beckham, the former number one overall pick of the 2008 MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays, has officially retired from Major League Baseball and has returned to the greater Tampa area with a fresh opportunity to give back to the community. Beckham is thrilled to announce the opening of his new franchise, Wallaby Windows, in Sarasota, Florida.

 After a remarkable 14-year career in professional baseball, Beckham has chosen to settle down in the community that supported him throughout his journey. “I am incredibly grateful for the city of Tampa and the surrounding areas,” Beckham said. “Throughout my career between playing for the beloved Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles. I’ve spent stints living in the Tampa Bay area as well as Sarasota. Now, I’m excited to give back and be a part of its growth through Wallaby Windows.”

In 2011, Beckham’s talent was recognized when he was selected for the All-Star Futures Game. His MLB debut came on September 19, 2013, where he recorded his first career hit against the Texas Rangers. Throughout his tenure with the Rays, Beckham showcased his versatility and resilience, overcoming injuries and making significant contributions on the field. Highlights of his career include winning multiple “player of the week” honors as well as “player of the month” on multiple occasions. The highlight of Beckham’s career was tying Cal Ripken’s record with 51 hits in the month of July 2017 while playing for the Baltimore Orioles, one that will keep Beckham in the MLB record books for life. Beckham played for numerous major league teams throughout his well-respected career, including the Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners, and the Minnesota Twins.
